The Cobra S40C is the petrol scarifier in the range, which matters if your lawn is beyond the reach of a 10m cable or you would rather not drag one across wet grass. A 212cc Cobra four-stroke gives the torque to keep the cylinder turning through heavy moss where a mains machine would bog down.
It also works deepest: -15mm to +5mm, against -12mm on the electric SA40E. Two cylinders are supplied — an 18-blade aeration cartridge and 24 sprung claws — covering both the gentle spring tidy and the serious autumn strip.
A transport lever lifts the blades clear for moving between areas without chewing up paths. 45-litre bag, the largest of the three. 39kg.
