Choosing the right machine
Start with your lawn size. Small town gardens suit a compact push mower — battery models are light, quiet and easy to store. Medium lawns are best served by a self-propelled petrol or battery mower with a wider cutting deck. Beyond roughly half an acre, a ride-on mower or garden tractor will save serious time.
If you're not sure, call our sales team on 01227 711 100 and we'll recommend the right machine for the job.
Battery mowers are quieter, lighter, start at the press of a button and need far less maintenance. So no fuel, oil changes or winter draining. Modern ranges such as EGO's 56V machines handle most domestic lawns comfortably. Petrol still has the edge for very large lawns, long or wet grass, and all-day professional use.
We stock both and will give you an honest steer either way.
For many gardens, yes. A robotic mower cuts little and often, which keeps grass healthier and means you never face an overgrown lawn. The latest wire-free models, including the Sunseeker Elite range, navigate using AI cameras or LiDAR, so there's no boundary wire to bury.
Visit our Westbere showroom near Canterbury to see them running, or call us to check whether your garden is suitable.
A ride-on or mini-rider is the most compact option, ideal for medium lawns and smaller storage spaces. A lawn or garden tractor has a wider deck and more power, often with rear collection and towing capability, suiting larger gardens and paddocks. A zero-turn mower steers on the spot for the fastest mowing of large open areas, popular with professionals.
Country Mower Centre sells all three and can help match the machine to your land.
We're an authorised dealer for many leading garden machinery brands, including Ariens, Countax, Cub Cadet, Echo, EGO, Hayter, Honda, Lawnflite, Masport, Mountfield, Simplicity, Snapper, Stiga, Stihl, Sunseeker Elite and Toro.
Buying from an authorised dealer means genuine machines, genuine parts and manufacturer-backed support.
Yes, we can take your existing machine in part-exchange against a new one. Get in touch with details of your current machine (make, model, age and condition) and we'll talk you through what it's worth against the machine you're considering.
Yes. Alongside domestic machines we supply landscapers, groundskeepers, farms and estates with professional-grade equipment, including professional mowers, brushcutters and zero-turns from brands such as Toro, Stihl, Echo, and many more.

Ordering, delivery and collection
Delivery on compact equipment such as chainsaws and hedgecutters is free via courier. Oversized hand-held items such as brushcutters and multi-tools are £10, and lawnmowers are £25, covering England, Wales and mainland Scotland. Ride-on mowers and garden tractors are delivered by our own team on a zoned rate — free in Kent and Medway.
By our own specialist team, not a courier. Every machine gets an in-house pre-delivery inspection before it leaves, and on arrival we walk you through the main features and only leave when you're fully satisfied. Delivery is free in Kent and Medway (CT, DA, ME, TN postcodes), with zoned rates from £50 for London and the South East up to £200 for northern England and southern Scotland.
Yes — we deliver to England, Wales and mainland Scotland as standard, with the Scottish Highlands, islands and offshore areas covered by arrangement (an additional surcharge may apply, and we'll contact you with details first).

Yes. Every machine we sell is given an in-house pre-delivery inspection (PDI) so it arrives in full working order and ready to go. For ride-ons and tractors, our delivery team demonstrates the machine at handover.
We accept all major payment methods online, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay.
Servicing
Our fully equipped workshop services most major makes of lawn and garden machinery, not just the brands we sell. We're registered agents for Cub Cadet, Echo, EGO, Hayter, Honda, Stiga, Stihl, Toro and many more. If you're unsure about your machine, call the workshop on 01227 711100.
Once a year is right for most domestic machines — it keeps the engine running efficiently, the blade cutting cleanly and catches worn parts before they become breakdowns. Machines in professional daily use need servicing more frequently.
Autumn or winter. The workshop is quietest after the cutting season ends, so turnaround is fastest — and your machine is ready to go the moment spring arrives.
A routine service typically covers the engine (oil, filters, spark plug), blade condition and sharpness, drive and cables, and a full safety check, with worn parts identified before they fail. Exactly what's included varies by machine type — we'll confirm the details when you book.
It depends on the type and condition of the machine — a small push mower is a different job from a garden tractor. Call us on 01227 711100 with your make and model and we'll give you a price when you book.
Yes — we can arrange collection and return in the Kent area. Call 01227 711100 to arrange, or you're welcome to drop your machine in to our Westbere workshop during opening hours.
Repairs
Almost certainly. Before booking it in, check the basics: fresh fuel (petrol older than a few months is a common culprit), a charged battery, and the spark plug lead pushed on firmly. If it still won't start, our workshop can diagnose the fault and quote for the repair.
It depends on the fault, parts availability and the time of year — spring and summer are our busiest months. We'll give you a realistic estimate when you book the machine in, and we aim to get essential machinery back to you as quickly as possible.
Yes. As an authorised dealer for the major brands, we fit genuine manufacturer parts backed by the manufacturers themselves.
Sometimes a repair is clearly worthwhile; sometimes the cost is close enough to a new machine that replacement makes more sense. Because we do both sales and repairs under one roof, we'll give you an honest assessment either way.
Warranty
Yes. We're registered warranty agents for Cub Cadet, Echo, EGO, Hayter, Honda, Stiga, Stihl, Toro and many more. If your machine develops a fault within the manufacturer's warranty period, we can advise whether it's likely to be covered and handle the work.
Yes. We're an authorised dealer, so every machine we sell — online or in store — comes with the full manufacturer's warranty, and our own workshop can handle any warranty work.
In most cases, yes. As registered warranty agents for the major brands, we can carry out warranty work on machines bought elsewhere. Contact us with your make, model and proof of purchase and we'll confirm the next steps.
