The EGO TR3801E-B is a 98cm battery ride-on tractor that collects into a 300-litre rear box. It's the EGO ride-on to choose if you want a tidy, collected finish, and the steering wheel and tractor layout will feel familiar if you're moving from a petrol ride-on.
It runs on up to six EGO 56V ARC Lithium batteries, and EGO rate it at up to 2.5 acres on a charge. The 1600W charger and two blades come in the box; batteries are sold separately, and EGO's current offer includes four 10Ah packs. Cutting height runs from 25 to 100mm across 12 positions.
Collecting is the trade-off most buyers weigh up. You get clear, clean stripes and no clippings walked into the house, but you'll stop to empty the box, and a collector does less well in long or wet grass. If you'd rather mulch, EGO's AMP3800T mulch plug is a separate accessory, or the Z6 zero-turns mulch as standard. It weighs 209kg and the seat has no suspension, so on rough ground the Z6 is the more comfortable ride. EGO back it with a five-year domestic warranty.
