The EGO LM1710ESP is the self-propelled version of the 42cm LM1710E, for a small to medium lawn with a slope or uneven ground. The drive does the pushing at a steady pace, which you notice most going uphill with a full 55L bag. It weighs 23.6kg without a battery, 2kg more than the push model.
If you already own EGO batteries, this bare tool is the cheaper way in, because any 56V ARC Lithium pack fits. The drive and the blade share the battery, so a 4Ah or larger pack is the sensible match. If you are new to EGO, the LM1712ESP is the same mower with a 4Ah battery and charger in the box.
On a small, flat lawn the push LM1710E does the same job for less. The trade-off is 2kg more to lift into a car or shed than the push model. EGO back it with a five-year domestic warranty.
